Don't Mess With Texas!

The Chalkboard has personally never been fond of the Bush administration when it comes to education stuff because it has been shamefully reluctant to try anything interesting. Of course, the Bushies helped pass a bi-partisan NCLB law that was interesting, but then proceeded to largely pretend that the law didn't exist. Now you see it, now you don't! In the mean time, people on the ground trying to make the law work essentially had no one in the White House watching their backs, so districts got away with murder.

Five years too late, things finally may be getting interesting, according to Ryan Boots. Will blog later tonight after the State of the Union.

(This was a major theme in my book: namely that Democrats are forbidden from talking about anything interesting when it comes to education, while Republicans do nothing but talk.)
