Shunning The Swindlers

On the Charter Blog, Nelson Smith has a good post about the importance of "shunning" people within the national charter school movement who are less than honorable. His argument is that these dudes, small in numbers, nonetheless make the rest of you look bad.

This argument can be extended beyond financial improprieties to school quality, especially Smith's point about how parents should yank their kids out of these schools. Parents are an important lever here - don't put up with crappy schools: public charter, traditional public, or private. Get your kids the hell out of them.
