Reform Relativism

Alexander Russo makes an excellent point regarding the boldness of the kinds of health care reforms being discussed in the beltway compared to the relative lameness of the kinds of education reforms being realistically discussed. Not a lot of guts in elected office, to be sure.

And it's not just in Washington. Last summer, we offered cash to anyone who could name anything bold/interesting that any member of the state legislature had done for education reform in the previous three years. Chalkboard readers were stumped and we donated the cash to cancer research.
