Dog Eat Dog World of Admissions

From this morning's NY Sun, a look at the tremendous effort some NYC parents exert to get their kids into the best public schools. It aint cheap.

UPDATE: Careful reader wonders why public charter schools, whose admissions and lottery guidelines are designed to ensure equal opportunity for enrollment, are the ones accused of creaming in light of these kinds of stories? This issue also came up at NEST - one reason a charter was not considered a viable option for the elite public school by many supporters is that they would have had to ditch their lofty entrance requirements.
