More WTC School Woes

For the life of me, I can't figure out why people aren't making a bigger deal of this developing problem. The NY Post reports this morning that Stuyvesant High School's 2001-02 senior class president, Amit Friedlander, has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease and he wonders whether the premature return to classes at the Lower Manhattan high school after 9/11 may have something to do with it.

Is it possible Amit (who successfully got Bill Clinton to attend the class' graduation ceremony) would have developed this cancer regardless of inhaling all the toxic air down there that day and in the weeks that followed? Of course.

Will there be more cases like Amit's that raise questions about some of the political decisions that were made that fall that potentially put students and teachers in harms way? You bet.

Will anyone, from those who gave the false impression that the air was safe to those who felt reopening schools would send a good "screw you" message to terrorists, be held accountable? Nah.

More here and here.
