Malcolm In The Middle

In some maneuvering being closely watched in these parts, Ben Smith takes a look at some of the behind-the-scenes stuff in the race to succeed David Paterson as senate minority leader. Malcolm Smith, the highly-regarded senator from Queens, is making a strong push, but hasn't quite sealed up the votes.

Ben suggests Eliot Spitzer could play an important role in how this one shakes out. Stay tuned, especially since there could be potential education ramifications behind a Spitzer-Smith alignment.
