Boys Choir Charter Plan
A group of parents calling itself the Harlem Parents for Better Schools, actually a group spinning off from the PTA at the Choir Academy of Harlem, is considering forming a charter boarding school. The school would revolve around the famed Harlem Boys and Girls Choir, which had been a part of the existing partnership public school before it (the choir) was evicted last school year by the Department of Education because of recurring leadership problems.
Interesting idea, except that new charter schools are illegal in New York State.
