Leadership In Action
Kudos to the State Legislature for finally putting the needs of working families ahead of petty political squabbles. As you no doubt have heard by now, in one of its final moves of this legislative session, lawmakers agreed to a deal that allows beer to be sold as early as 8 a.m. on Sundays. The Chalkboard has long believed the noon glass-tipping time was discriminatory against those of us with children who wake us up at the crack of dawn. On behalf of all those who have ordered the brunch special but had to forego the frosty chaser because it was only 8 a.m., we salute the fine men and women in Albany who put their necks out on the line on this one!
Profiles in courage. Burp.
