Funky New/Old Charter Building in Bronx

I'm playing some catch-up from the west coast, so I didn't have time to post this yesterday before I started flapping my frequent flyer wings, but the old Bronx Courthouse is being turned into an 800-student charter schools that will be run by Imagine Schools.

Very cool. No protests... yet.

UPDATE: IMPORTANT CORRECTION!!! Please Note: This story in the New York Times turns out to not be correct. Under New York State law it is illegal to create new charter schools in traditionally underserved neighborhoods - or in any neighborhoods for that matter. This will have to be an extremely privatized, private school instead. Perhaps the movement for private school tuition vouchers will now pick up steam to help the students who want better schooling options in that part of the Bronx.
