Wager Like A Gretzky!

In the spirit of NCAA bracketology and the rapid growth of office betting pools this time of year, The Chalkboard is setting up a blog pool - and awarding "fabulous prizes" - to readers who correctly identify when the New York Post will next use the phrase "School Daze" in a headline accompanying an education story.

We're looking for the month, whether it will be in the first, second or third third of the month, and the year. No cost to enter. Send your submissions to: TheChalkboard@nycsa.org. You are more than welcome to explain the rationale behind your guess, and please mention whether your name can be used if you are the lucky winner.

The contest is not open to anyone with the last name Murdoch.

If you want to plot out some past practices to guide your entry:

-- Feb. 17, 2006: Mike's School Daze - Blasted By Crowd
-- Feb. 6, 2006: School Daze Starts Today
-- Sept. 30, 2005: Team Bloomy Giddy Over Ferrer School Daze
-- Oct. 30, 2004: Campaign School Daze
-- Sept. 21, 2004: Snafu Kid In School Daze
-- Sept. 20, 2004: School Daze - Only On Mars - Paris Hilton Hits The Books
-- May 27, 2004: School Daze - $13G No-Show Keeps Her Job
-- Jan. 31, 2004: Sick Daze: More Teachers Ditch
-- July 27, 2003: High School Daze
-- April 26, 2003: City School Daze As Gov Halts $$$ Payout

-- July 11, 2001: Levy Admits School Daze This Summer
-- March 1, 2001: It's Preschool Daze For Parents

And if you want to start doing research for the next contest coming down the pike, readers will be asked to guess when the Daily News will next use the phrase "Class Act" in a headline accompanying an education story.
