Livingston Revolt

They've had it up to here inside Albany's persistently dangerous Livingston Middle School. After a series of incidents that we've already noted, teachers (backed by their union and parents) are asking the School Board for help. They want new alternative schools to handle the rowdies. Superintendent Eva Joseph says a task force will address violence and safety at the school. She has consistently maintained there is no crisis, however.

UPDATE: The Times Union version of this story provides even more color. Like this quote from a teacher: "Threatening staff members and classmates, using language that isn't even fit for a brothel, bringing in weapons; gang activity and violence have become the norm, not the exception."
