Follow The Money
More discussion on the UFT’s blog EdWize about the NYC schools budget, and how much cash makes its way from the central office to schools with declining enrollments. As we noted previously, the Educational Priorities Panel's report notes that state funding for school districts keeps going up even if enrollment declines. This dynamic will be important as the battle over lifting the cap heat up, and what impact, if any, charter schools have on school district budgets when parents choose public charter schools.
